For those that have never flown a chopper, especially with a trim system, it’s very useful.
What the guy is doing is dumb, not because he’s clicking it once, but you “click it” (a button on the cyclic) HOLD IT DOWN, find where you want to put the cyclic and let it go.
Simple terms: the trim button de-energizes a magnet at the base of the cyclic. The cyclic base “floats” in a circle base that is like polarized. (9th grade science: like polarized magnets oppose each other)
All the opposing forces equalize and create a stiffend stick (giggity).
New guys over control (hey, we all did a one time) which is why you hear so many damn clicks.
This is all coming from a guy who has never flown a Russian bird, but has seen them almost crash a few times.

I’d be surprised if Gerry was still with us. He was really out of sorts after his wife passed a couple years ago and I haven’t seen him or been able to reach him since.
You never know though, he didn’t seem to have a problem leaving parts of his life behind and never looking back. Maybe I was one.

If Gerry is still with us, he must be really getting up there in years. I think he's around the same age as my father, whom is 93 now - remember Jim Pfaff at Transport said Dad’s death was imminent decades ago. Oops.

Gerry is still kicking. He’s my neighbour. I think the last few years have been tough for him - the loss of Doreen hit him hard, now he’s injured his ankle and his memory is quite bad. I have to reintroduce myself every time I see him (he’s been my neighbour for 15 years). But he is spunky as ever.

If I live to get really old, I’m gonna have a whole lot of fun with that. The shit I’m going to pull …..

Gerry is still kicking.
Glad to hear but we sure miss him at our airport BBQs. He never came to all of them but his absence is felt now that he’s not at any.

I don’t know if he drives. And even if he did, I don’t know if he’d remember the dates to make it there. I think he relies on his kids for a lot, but they can’t be young either. He walks laps around the neighbourhood once or twice a day at least (when he is able to get around) and chats with everyone he runs into. Sometimes I see him standing in his driveway and it looks like he’s just hoping to run into someone - I think he gets lonely. We all keep an eye out for him though.
