The guys wearing the white hoods were Democrats, you ignorant idiot. Jefferson Davies was a Democrat and was the leader of the Confederacy. Abraham Lincoln - my 6th cousin, so you can go fuck yourself while you tear his statues down - was the leader of the Republican Party in the North and fought the civil war to free the slaves from the Democrats in the South.

In more recent history, Woodrow Wilson was another racist Democrat and fan of the Ku Klux Klan and of course, FDR locked up Americans of Japanese descent in concentration camps in WWII. Not the Germans, not the Italians.
