The Jungster looks like a fun little thing and with a keen eye on Barnstormers, etc. and some patience you could probably pick one up for a song.

VWs can be good little airplane engines but there are so many ways to convert them it’s not guaranteed. In Europe there were even certified aviation VWs.

So what are you gonna build?

Probably the unfinished fuselage he kicked apart after he got frustrated.

The Dakota Hawk looks tempting though. I think someone was selling refurbished engines for them.

That would be a fine little airplane. I think a couple of Roger Mann’s airplanes would fit the bill too, maybe his all wood Stork could scratch the itch.

It’s not the most faithful replica but they look dead simple to build and it seems like enough have been finished and flown to feel okay about the design.
